It’s been 70 years since the epic struggle with the Akutsuki ended. Akutsuki was defeated and the kyuubi were destroyed. Under Naruto, the sixth Hokage, the leaf village prospered. At the same time, a peace had begun between all the countries and the economy was booming everywhere. However, the peace brought unease in the hidden villages for many. While the world around them was enjoying prosperity, the hidden villages generally thrived on the war economy. The villages that had been strongest before Akutsuki’s defeat were beginning to decline as the need for ninja’s decreased. In the villages that had been waning before Akutsuki’s defeat, they were continuing their high demand for ninjas in order to catch up to the stronger countries. At this point, all major countries have an equal amount of power in the world and it is at this point that chaos takes over.

When Pein died at the end of the conflict with Akutsuki, a seal that he made long ago was broken. This seal had held a dangerous god named Jashin. Hidan had originally joined Akutsuki in order to kill Pein and bring his god back to life. He failed to do so but, Pein was still killed in the very end. However, the seal that was broken with Pein’s death was only a small part of a greater seal that had been put on Jashin in a battle around the same time. But the broken seal attracted the attention of 6 followers of Jashin. These followers were known as the 6 Blades of Jashin and had powers far greater than Hidan ever did. They represent the 6 teachings of Jashin; Death, Pain, Sorrow, Insanity, Fear, and Enlightenment. They each found their way to the place where Jashin is partially sealed away and are hoping to restore him to his former strength.

At the same time, tension has begun to spread amongst the countries as rumors get out about certain countries building up arms. Trust is becoming difficult to find in the world. Behind the scenes of all this is the 6 Blades of Jashin. After they had spread the rumors that had shaken the foundation of the trusting countries, the Blade of Insanity assassinated the Daimyou of the Leaf country under the guise of a Sound ninja. The Cold War that had been developed immediately spread into a hot one as alliances were made and broken. The two allied sides are the Leaf, the Mist, and the Sand against the Rock, the Sound, and the Cloud. As of yet, neither side knows about the existence of the Blades of Jashin. But will they find out before they kill each other? And what is the method that the 6 Blades hope to use in the revival of Jashin?
